In the East Hollywood area, near the Wilshire Center in Koreatown, USC and Downtown Los Angeles, is the 70th library branch of LAPL – Pico Union Branch Library. It’s close to MacArthur Park and the Staples Center.
We loved the children’s section with the beautiful fireplace!
We read a few books and danced. Riley had worn her Elsa dress that day and was feeling especially fancy and silly.
Riley even took a picture of me, which is crazy to think about since she couldn’t even walk when we started this journey at the 1st branch. . . .
We checked out a lot of books. Of course!
We got:
Whose Moon Is That? by Kim Krans;
Be Brave, Little Penguin by Giles Andreae and illustrated by Guy Parker-Rees;
The Octonauts & The Great Ghost Reef by Meomi;
Bonesville by Jean-Luc Fromental; and Joëlle Jolivet;
Los Gatos Black on Halloween written by Maria Montes and illustrated by Yuyi Morales;
I Dream of Trains by Angela Johnson and illustrated by Loren Long;
Sweetest Kulu by Celina Kalluk, illustrated by Alexandria Neonakis;
Samurai Scarecrow – A very ninja Halloween by Rubin Pingk;
Peppa Pig and the I Love You Game by Astley Baker Davies Ltd;
Snail & Worm Again by Tina Kügler;
Niño Wrestles The World by Yuyi Morales;
Cat Dreams by Ursula K. Le Guin and illustrated by S.D. Schindler;
Fetch by Jorey Hurley.
Reading with Riley never stops being the most amazing time of my day.
Next time you’re near the Pico Union Branch Library, stop in! If you’re a kid, you can eat a Summer Lunch! If you’re an adult, there’s Walk-In Tutoring! Thanks, LAPL.
