We visited the 67th branch of LAPL!
Porter Ranch Branch Library is in the neighborhood of Porter Ranch, in the West San Fernando Valley area.
We explored the children’s area where Riley was interested in the computers that day. It was the first time she’s really sat down to one at the library. . . and she then said, “I’m doing my work.”
We got books to take home:
Calendar by Myra Cohn Livingston and illustrated by Will Hillenbrand;
In the Tall, Tall Grass by Denise Fleming;
The Deaf Musicians, story by Pete Seeger and Paul DuBois Jacobs, illustrations by R. Gregory Christie;
Sumi’s First Day of School Ever by Soyung Pak, illustrated by Joung Un Kim;
After The Fall (how Humpty Dumpty got back up again), a story by Dan Santat;
Twenty Yawns by Jane Smiley, illustrated by Lauren Castillo;
Jitterbug Jam by Barbara Jean Hicks, pictures by Alexis Deacon;
Someday When My Cat Can Talk by Caroline Lazo, illustrated by Kyrsten Brooker;
Ella Sarah Gets Dressed by Margaret Chodos-Irvine (a Caldecott Honor Book);
Armadilly Chili by Helen Ketteman, illustrated by Will Terry;
Dreamers by Yuyi Morales;
Night Noises written by Mem Fox, illustrated by Terry Denton;
All our books were good. As they always are! We’re so thankful for our libraries. . .
And next time you are in Porter Ranch, there are fun things happening at the Porter Ranch Branch library – so go visit! Knitting Clubs, Storytime, Learn How To Draw Teen Titans, Learn How To Tango. . . .
