In the Valley in Pacoima, near the Mission San Fernando Rey de España, is the 53rd branch of LAPL, Pacoima Branch Library.
G and Riley enjoyed looking at some books in the children’s area and then Riley came over to me for a turn. Now that Riley is 34 months old, she’s telling us what to do.
We took lots of great books home.
We got:
A board book, Baby Sees Colors! by Akio Kashiwara;
The wordless book, Hank Finds An Egg by Rebecca Dudley;
Bus! Stop! by James Yang;
Nana in the City by Lauren Castillo;
A Boy And A Jaguar by Alan Rabinowitz and illustrated by Cátia Chien;
Seasons by Anne Crausaz;
Uptown by Bryan Collier;
Lulu’s Party by Kit Chase;
Roof Octopus by Lucy Branam and illustrated by Rogério Coelho;
Smick! by Doreen Cronin and illustrated by Juana Medina;
A Most Unusual Day by Sydra Mallery and illustrations by E.B. Goodale;
Black Dog by Levi Pinfold;
The Little Red Fort by Brenda Maier and pictures by Sonia Sánchez.
53 branches into this journey of visiting every branch of LAPL (72 branches!) I am still amazed by every book we check out. Your public library card is seriously the never-ending gift card of wonder and joy.
