I can’t believe it, Riley was the Winter Reading Challenge raffle winner at the Lincoln Heights Branch (Branch 02)! Thank you to the Children’s Librarian, Shirley Ly!
I think I was more excited than my daughter when we got the email about her good fortune. Riley loves her bag of goodies (even though I made her carry it) — the books and ball, but especially the rubber duck.
We can’t wait for the Summer Reading Challenge for 2018! There are always exciting things going on at LAPL.
Even if you don’t win a raffle, you are a winner just for taking a few minutes a day to read. A favorite book from last week was, I See Kitty by Yasmine Surovec (and it only takes a few minutes to read — though we did look at the pictures over and over again).
If cats aren’t for you, check out There Is A Tribe of Kids by Lane Smith or When The World Is Dreaming by Rita Gray with pictures by Kenard Pak. These two have been some of our favorite books of late, as well.
Happy reading, everyone.
